It works better than the one I had before, but it doesn’t seem to activate when animals are on our lawn, only when people are on it. I have it aimed straight out about a foot and a half off the ground, but I don’t know what to do to get it to do the job I bought it for Which is to keep the squirrels from making holes in our new emerging lawn. I have tried aiming it to the next point in the arc downwards, but then it doesn’t seem to pick up much of anything as far as triggering.
I had the yard enforcer for more than a week, but the cats I was trying to get rid of were not being picked up by the motion sensor so they continued to **** in my Zen garden. I tried moving the unit, changing the direction the sensor was pointed, cleaning off the lens, changing it from night to day to “always“, I had tried everything so I called Orbit and explained the situation. They dropped a new sensor in the mail right away, no questions asked. In the meantime I tried turning off the “ intelligent sensing“, and that ended up doing the trick. If you are having trouble with your unit picking up motion from pests, I strongly recommend you turn off the intelligent sensing, it works. This is a great device and I’m actually considering getting another one based on the great customer service alone. I know if I ever have trouble with my enforcer Orbit will be there to stand behind me.
This was a warranty replacement. The service from the Orbit Warranty Specialist was excellent.
