Description
The sprinkler system winterization kit is engineered for blowing water from a sprinkler system which helps to help prevent winter freeze damage to pipes, valves, and heads. The kit consists of a 1/2-in. FPT x 1/4-in. I/M brass adapter and a 3/4-in. FHT x 1/2-in. MPT brass hose faucet adapter. This allows you to connect an air compressor to a mainline via a 1/2-in. sprinkler riser or a hose faucet adapter. Use thread seal tape between the male and female threads. To perform winterization, ensure water is off at the main, attach the winterization kit to the mainline, attach an air compressor capable of producing 80 to 100 CFM of airflow to the I/M adapter, set the compressor between 50 and 80 PSI, use the sprinkler controller to open each zone, beginning with the highest and farthest from the point of connections, and actuate the compressor until the air flows freely through the heads. Repeat for each zone. Wear safety glasses to ensure safety. For outdoor irrigation use with cold water only.
