The Pulse XL pop-up impact sprinkler is engineered to handle the demands of high-mineral content, dirty, and reclaimed water without clogging. The double-weighted impact arm ensures reliable operation even under high pressure. It is ideal for landscape areas which require a throw distance of up to 45 ft. between sprinkler heads. Its arc is adjustable from 20 to 360 degrees, which gives you the ability to aim it so that the water hits the landscape only and avoids any hardscape surfaces. The rolled lip surrounding the outside of the can creates a donut ring which prevents grass from growing into it. The 3-in. pop-up height ensures that the nozzle clears tall grass.
It comes with a pre-installed 3-gallon-per-minute (GPM) nozzle which results in a full-pattern precipitation rate of 0.18 in. per hour at 40-ft. square spacing at 40 PSI. This very low rate reduces the risk of runoff or puddling for many soil types and conditions. The 4 GPM and 2 GPM bonus nozzles allow you to create a matched precipitation effect for full (yellow nozzle), half (pre-installed nozzle), and quarter (red nozzle) patterns. It includes a radius adjustment screw which allows you to reduce the impact throw down to 75% of its rated distance. The can and riser stem are made from high-impact ABS and the metal components are made from stainless steel. Arc adjustment stops make setting the pattern simple and tool free. You can create a full pattern by simply flipping the trip pin up. The side inlet is 1/2-in. female pipe thread (FPT) and the bottom inlet is both 1/2-in. and 3/4-in. FPT which allows for higher flow. A slotted plug seals whichever inlet is not in use.
The typical method for installing or replacing a pop-up impact is on a 1/2-in. or 3/4-in. male pipe thread (MPT) riser into the bottom inlet or a 1/2-in. swing pipe fitting into the side inlet. The Pulse XL replaces pop-up impact rotors from Orbit, Hydro-Rain, and other major brands. Recommended operating pressure is 40 PSI. For outdoor irrigation use with cold water only.
