More Details

The Easy Set Logic indoor/outdoor sprinkler timer/controller is the logical timer of choice for residential sprinkler systems with up to 12 zones/stations. This timer is engineered for installation in an indoor or outdoor location. It has a locking door with two keys and the display is mounted on a swing panel which allows you to easily access the wiring. It can power a pump start relay and one valve solenoid at the same time.

The A, B and C program slots allow you to set up to three unique watering schedules tailored to different types of zones in the yard. Each program has space for four different start times which allows you to create cycle and soak windows that encourage water infiltration into the soil. The Easy Set Logic sprinkler timer will automatically “stack” overlapping runtimes from different programs so that only one solenoid is running at any given time. The manual run feature allows you to run one zone, select zones, or all zones for a specified length of time, which is very convenient for zone testing or supplemental watering. It has a rain delay feature at the timer which allows you to skip watering zones for a configurable time when Mother Nature is taking care of the watering, and a relay switch for adding an automatic rain and freeze sensor (sold separately).

Installation is as simple as mounting the timer on the wall, putting the common wire (typically white wire) in the C terminal and the individual zone wires in each of the numbered station terminals, plugging in the power cord, and setting the schedules. Push wire terminals allow for tool-less insertion and removal of the wires. The recommended standard sprinkler wire for this timer is 18 gauge thickness with 5 or 7 strands/wires.

Frequently asked questions

Some questions and answers are automatically generated.

Is this controller easy to install and program?
Most reviewers report it is straightforward to install and program. Many note the quick setup guide is helpful, and the online owner's manual provides detailed instructions for more complex configurations. However, one customer found the wiring process challenging without better documentation.
Does this controller work with major valve brands?
Yes, according to the product description, it is compatible with 24 VAC valves from Orbit, Hydro-Rain, and other major brands.
Can I run different watering schedules on the same day?
Yes. The controller has three program slots (A, B, and C) and each program can have up to four different start times for cycle and soak windows, allowing you to set up multiple watering schedules in a single day.
Does it have a rain delay feature?
Yes, the controller includes a rain delay feature that allows you to skip watering zones during rain or freeze conditions.
How many zones can this controller handle?
The controller can manage up to 12 zones or stations according to the product description.
Is manual mode easy to use for immediate watering?
The controller does offer a manual mode to run one, multiple, or all zones, but some customers found it less intuitive than older models—you need to have zones already set up first, and stepping through zones sequentially can be inconvenient for quick ad hoc watering.
How long do these controllers typically last?
Several customers report replacing much older Orbit controllers (20+ years old) with these units, suggesting long-term durability. However, one customer's original unit failed within months, and a small number have experienced defects like button failures or programming glitches.
