Frequently asked questions

Some questions and answers are automatically generated.

Will the rubber seals and plugs wear out or leak?

Some customers report that rubber seals and end plugs can fail or leak after a year or two of use, particularly in cold weather or high-pressure conditions. Several reviewers mention the rubber-coated ends as a potential weak point, though many others report years of reliable performance. Orbit's warranty program covers leaks, and the company handles replacements without charge.

Do the shut-off valves work reliably?

Most customers find the shut-off valves sturdy and effective for controlling water flow. A few reviewers report that one or more valves eventually failed to shut off completely or began leaking, but these cases were resolved through Orbit's warranty replacement program.

How long does this manifold typically last?

Many reviewers report years of reliable service, with some noting their first unit lasted many years despite high water pressure and mineral-heavy water before eventually leaking. Others have experienced leaks within a year. Durability appears to vary based on water conditions and usage patterns.

Is the construction sturdy and well-made?

The majority of reviewers consistently praise the manifold as sturdy, well-made, and heavy-duty. Most note that the brass fittings and rubber-coated metal body feel quality-built and are designed to last multiple seasons.

Can you control water flow to individual hoses?

Yes. The manifold has four independent shut-off valves that allow you to control water flow to each of the four hose connections separately. Reviewers appreciate this feature for managing irrigation to different garden areas independently.

Does it work with standard 3/4-inch hose faucets?

Yes, the manifold attaches to standard 3/4-inch outdoor hose faucets. This is confirmed by the product design and customer reviews indicating straightforward installation.

Could have received 5-Stars!

Really like the manifold and would have given it 5-stars except for one issue.
The fact that the brass body has a 'rubber plug' on each end that is part of the covering that fails and allows the unit to leak is an issue. Don't understand why this weakness isn't changed on an otherwise nice part?

My first one worked well for many years, despite being on a hydrant with high water pressure and a lot of iron and other minerals in the water. So when it finally began to leak, I got another one just like it.

Replacement of a product was simple and efficient.top notch customer care.

would purchase again

the two manifolds we recently received are great. they were a replacement for two similar manifolds from orbit that were sour grapes from the get-go. they never functioned correctly, did not shut off there hoses completely and leaked. your customer service that helped me was great, and was able to authorize the two new ones which were sent to me at no charge. these are functioning very well and I would not hesitate to purchase orbit again, due to your customer service. thank you.
