Frequently asked questions

Some questions and answers are automatically generated.

Will the shut-off valves leak after a while?

Most reviewers report the hose Y works well, but some mention that the shut-off valves begin leaking after several months to a year of use. Multiple customers have successfully received replacements through the warranty, indicating this is a known issue covered by the company's guarantee.

Is it easy to control water flow?

Yes. One reviewer specifically praised the large control knobs, noting they allow easier turning than traditional-sized valve handles, making it simple to control water flow on and off.

Does it arrive ready to install?

The product features a swivel connection that requires no tools and attaches to standard 3/4-inch outdoor garden hose faucets. The description states it offers fast, easy installation, though some users report receiving items with missing components on rare occasions.

What happens if it leaks or fails?

The product comes with a warranty; reviewers report that Orbit stands behind it and will ship replacements if leaking or failure occurs. Multiple customers noted they had their units replaced by simply contacting the company with proof of purchase.

Is the metal construction durable?

Reviews confirm the metal body is well-made and durable. The product description notes the non-corrosive metal is protected by a rubberized, non-slip grip designed to resist normal wear and tear. However, lifespan varies—some reviewers report several years of use while others mention problems within a year.

Can it split one faucet into two hoses?

Yes. The hose Y converts a single faucet into two separate outlets, allowing users to run two hoses or sprinklers simultaneously, each controlled by individual shut-off levers.

This was a replacement from one we had purchased 3 years ago and was leaking. It has a 6 yr. warranty and they were so good about just having me text them a copy of the original receipt of the hose Y and they promptly sent me another one.

Top Hose Splitter

Orbit stands behind their products, as I received a replacement Metal Hose Y to replace an original unit that began to leak. The new Metal Hose Y is well made of quality materials and is prefect for my environment. Thank you Orbit for your support and help.

Hose Y with large Handles

I am please with this Hose Y. Specifically it has large control knobs that allow easier turning than the traditional size knobs. All the other features are also good, but it is the knob size that makes it special. Thanks you for this product as a reasonable cost.

Works absolutely perfectly

Works with no hassles.

Time will tell if product holds up.

They are Okay, I do like the larger valve handles, but honestly they are not worth the money. I have had several and after about a year they start leaking around the shut off valve. There is not serviceable part here so you either throw them away (what a waste) or make sure they are leak water where you want them to. I do not recommend putting them directly on the faucet on the house-- NOT good to have that much water dripping next to your foundation. Use a short hose extension and place it away from the house.-- Trust me on this, I didn't realize it started leaking and had quite a bit of water in a window well. Could have been a real problem. I now buy the cheap plastic ones- At least when they start leaking I am only out a couple of buck instead of the 10 or so for these pieces of junk.
