Sensors have worked out pretty well so far. Setup was pretty simple. Tested each of the three sensors with a wet cloth and it was able to detect moisture and send an alert to my phone. The app itself is OK, but not as intuitive as I would like. If you look at the video describing the sensors, it shows that it will report the current status and battery within the app. I was originally looking at Settings/Devices but it wasn’t there. You have to go to the Home page and click the part in fine print in the upper part of the screen that says ‘Active Devices Flood Sensor’.
It is a nice compact sensor that fits inconspicuously under a refrigerator, sink, washing machine, etc. I did get an alert once when it detected water from an ice cube that melted. So in this instance, the sensor did its job and did it quite well. During this situation I lost the WiFi connection for the sensor under the refrigerator and didn’t see an easy way to reconnect it back to the network. So I had to select Deauthorize Device and do the setup again for that one sensor. If I lost network connection from just a bit of water from an ice cube, I don’t have a sense on whether the sensor would continue to function during a major leak. Overall, having leak sensors in general that are reliable are money well spent.

Having had flood problems in the past, this idea is simply GENIUS. I purchased the 8 pack several moths ago and the app is still reporting 100% battery level on all sensors. However, there are a few shortcomings I hope will be addressed. First and foremost is with the flood notifications in the app. A simple “text message chime” or an e-mail at 2:00 am is frankly insufficient. If a leak is detected, there should be a full on steady alarm until the notification is acknowledged. After all, this is the entire purpose of the flood monitor and without a sufficient notification system it’s value is severely compromised. I’m on an iPhone and understand that there may be limitations to overcome. Second, I receive notifications of individual sensors disconnecting regularly (7 were reported last week, which is average). The sensors will reconnect on their own, typically within 30 minutes to a few hours. All 8 sensors are within 40 feet direct line (probably less) of that hub, but even the two less than 15 feet away (but admittedly through a wall) disconnect on occasion. Overall I’m happy enough that I plan to buy another hub (which will hopefully improve the disconnection problem) and few more sensors. This system has already demonstrated its value with a quick warning on a leak from a recently installed water heater. Please address the concern with the notification system and this will be a solid 5 star product.

Got the 3 sensor pack. One for the hot water heater, one for behind the frig, one for behind the washer. Only took about 10 minutes to set up. Tested them out and they work great. Main hub was placed in the kitchen which is central to all three. One of the sensors was moved from the area and the app instantly told me it was no longer being monitored. Great to know they are hard at work even if I’m not home.

Easy enough setup but not sure the advertised WiFi range means anything. Had to move the base station around to get all sensors to function. Furthest sensor was about 30 feet away before the relocation. I would really like to see a way this product gives you an audible alarm and even a text message. Seeing that something happened earlier in the day is not very useful. Product should make an immediate succinct alert.

Love the sensor size and quick response time! Purchased the 3 pk/hub and the 5 pk since the website wouldn’t allow purchase of 8 pack/hub. This made setup a little challenging since there’s a process required to 1st setup the 3/hub and then add the 5 pk. Overall setup is relatively simple although I’ve had several occasions where the sensor’s dropped off the network and have owned the system for a couple months.
Notification only produces a very low db sound that would not alert someone leaving you dependent on the phone app. I’m attempting to figure out a way to have my phone alert me ONLY when receiving the email alert notice from orbit and to override silent/vibrate mode with an audible tone.
The app has a bug showing Celsius although the numbers actually are Fahrenheit. Customer support has been easy to reach via text and say they are working the issue.
I’m also using the sensors in my freezer and they work great! The orbit engineers didn’t recommend this functionality but it has been working great. Am also monitoring the HVAC drip pans in the attic for flood and temp(they have also dropped off the network 3-4 times in the past couple months and are then automatically picked back up after a period of time)
OVERALL: A great sensor but needs better notification. I hope there’s an upgrade that includes this function without current users having to buy more sensors since they are already expensive.

I purchased the 3 pack of water sensors. Setup is very simple and easy with additional request for min max temperature. Drawbacks are that the sensors do not show much information unless they go off. When viewing from the app you only see the last time sync’d, MAC address and firmware and hardware versions. I have a couple of other sensors from a different vendor that include WiFi signal strength, battery life, current temperature and humidity which is a bit more functional than these.

Easy set up however the jury is still out as to whether they will stand the test of time.

Product was easy to setup. I lost connectivity to the sensors but I believe it was a problem on my end. They came back online by themselves.

Simple and easy installation once I found the best place to install the hub so it could communicate with each other. One review claimed that it doesn’t provide much information, however talking with their customer service, there is a way to get much more detailed information from each sensor (I had to change the upper temp limit on one of the sensors).
For the price, I would purchase them again.

So far I have no complaints about this product. It was very easy to set up and I do like the information that each sensor displays along with high and low temperature alerts current temperature and alarm status. I was able to place my hub in pretty close proximity to my sensors so I’m not sure if you had to span further distance whether that would be an issue or not. So far I’m very happy with it and would buy additional ones if needed.

I bought the starter set of 3 flood sensors and it took just 10 minutes to set them up. I put one in the sink to test them out and as soon as I turned on the water I received a text and email alert informing me that the specific sensor went off. I have since added 5 more sensors to cover all toilets, dishwasher, water heater and washing machine. I did have 2 sensors cut in and out but the tech team gave great guidance to quickly reset them and reposition the hub. Great product!

these were easy to set up and connect to my home network. I love having one app for both my sprinkler system and my new flood sensors. My one issue would be the signal strength from the base wall unit to the sensors. I get q lost connection alert every few days, which has always reconnected quickly on its own. I am confident that even with this one issue that they will alert me of any water entering my basement or leaking from my washing machine. P

Hi Bob,
Thank you for your review. If I understand correctly, your Flood sensor no longer works. I am so sorry to hear this. Please feel free to reach out to us regarding this! The sensors will work if submerged and you will be notified of a leak event, but it should be replaced with a new unit once the area is dry. They are reusable after a leak and should be removed from any water as soon as possible following a detected leak, and dried. However, with being submerged, you will need to replace the flood sensor. You can contact us via SMS (801) 905-8260 or call (800) 488-6156 if you would like to further discuss.

I love a good solution. My current leak system (1) is a “screamer” alarm. If I’m not home – I won’t know. With the new B-Hyve Flood Sensors, I now have 3 monitors and can monitor my utility area (2 water heaters, 2 water filters, lots of pipes), my sump pump area (placed in the pipe inset, so I get a few minutes warning before it hits the floor) and inside my back door (pit type door with no cover, but it does have a drain – we already got flooded when the drain got filled with leaves during a heavy storm and the drain plugged!)
So now I have an alert on my cel phone if I get water in any of these three spaces.
Setup was absolutely simple on my iPhone 8. As long as you know your WIFI access code and can use a smart phone, this is easy to install. The sensors even flash a white light so you can tell which one you are working with. And you can take a picture in the App to see where you put it, and add a title and description.
I hope these won’t get “tested” by a flood, but if they do, I’ll know it.
And the Noah video – GREAT WORK! I LOL’d a lot watching it.

So, 3 months later, the house is back in order (new flooring, drywall, baseboards, etc.) and I’m ready to install my 8 sensors. Having done so, I now am unable to get them all to work at the same time, due to distance, I guess. We’ll see what a second router does. BTW, I love my outdoor B-hyve sprinkler timer and really much want to love the flood sensors. Would like the company of Orbit to also love the flood sensor division enough to put some $$$ into their own app site, versus having to navigate through the timer site in order to get to it. Stay dry, everyone!

We’ve had our sensors for a couple of weeks. We’ve had several internet interruptions and the devices still remained functional without going off–that’s always big issue with products such as these. They work great until your internet/wifi have issues. So far, it’s its been great and has survived through some rocky issues. We tested it and it alerted us within 5 seconds, so should be fine if something happens.

Hi. I have bought 13 leak detectors and linked them to the hub. The problem is that some of these detectors randomly disconnect and reconnect a couple hours later. At any given time, one or two of my sensors are disconnected. They probably have a bluetooth connectivity issue.

Great idea, great product. I did read all of the reviews and yes, you need a solid Wi-Fi connection and be within bluetooth range. And yes, if the sensor gets submerged, it’s probably toast… but so what, it’s a small price to pay to avoid $ thousands in damage. But here’s the best part… I had three of these and they were working just fine and out of the blue, I get an email from the company telling me there’s a problem. So they replace all three sensors AND offer a $25 credit on my next purchase to off-set the 10 minutes it took me to set them up… so I just bought five more sensors. In my experience, very few other companies would do that . They would wait for complaints and then drag it out and MAYBE get a replacement. So… I’m pretty happy with these.

I encountered an issue while setting up my flood sensors and called the tech service line. I was connected to Orbit’s dedicated Flood Sensor Support Team and spoke with Max. He was extremely helpful and talked me through the setup, He was very patient and double checked when I was done to ensure all was working the way it should.
I am very pleased with the level of customer service and support Orbit provided.
