The metal is too thin or weak on this device. It may be fine initially but after only a few months to a year tension on the threads by the hose will create pin holes in the metal. Typically people think it's the hose washer joint that leaks and will tightened it more to try and stop the leaks, the leaking will get worse because of the higher tension or the threads will just break off. I've had this happen on 4 units.

The brass manifold is very robustly constructed and should operate for many years.

The female hose connecter to the manifold has a very fine threaded nipper. The hex wrench design should go the full length of the nipple to make it stronger.

I especially the mounting bracket that it comes with.

This is much more heavy duty than the plastic-nut type that I have bought in the past. They always end up breaking where they are screwed to the faucet. This one will not break. The only fault is that the ball valves are so small. It seems to work OK with my sprinklers, but it must restrict the flow with such a small opening in the ball valve.

I’ve used Orbit products for decades and have always contacted them for warranty replacements, which has typically been accommodating. This encounter took weeks of back and forth with various customer service reps who gave varying information between them. I was truly disappointed with the interaction I received this time. Will make me rethink my use of Orbit products.

The last one I bought leaked within one season of use at the four valve handles.
Orbit did stand behind their product with a cost free replacement.

We have had to purchase a new one of these every year for 3 years due to inoperability of unused valves after months of use of the head. We appreciate your replacing our last one. The agent asked if I still had the old one I could send back for investigation and I searched but was unable to find it so I thought I'd recycled the brass. I stumbled on it in my shop days later. Now that I have the new one in a box, I could send the old one back if you all still want to investigate what caused the issues (hard to operate valves or permanently stuck) if you will send me a prepaid return label.

The Brass manifold if left outside on the water hose is unable to withstand the Dallas weather and needs to be replaced every winter… worst quality overall
