What is B-hyve?

B-hyve is smart watering that actually saves you time and water. It's a line of Wi-Fi-connected sprinkler controllers and hose faucet timers that automatically adjust your watering based on local weather—so you don't have to think about it.

How It Works

B-hyve uses something we call WeatherSense technology. Once you set up your zones and tell the system a bit about your landscape, it takes over. You can select your local weather station or even connect a personal weather station for maximum accuracy. The system pulls weather data, calculates how much moisture is in your soil, and runs your sprinklers only when needed.

B-hyve gives you more control over your watering than any other system—7 customizable inputs, the most in the industry. You dial in soil type, plant type, sprinkler type, sunlight exposure, rainfall, and slope. The system then factors in application rate, efficiency, plant factor, microclimate, management allowed depletion, field capacity, permanent wilting point, root zone depth, allowable surface accumulation, basic infiltration rate, effective rainfall, and drought factor to create a precision watering schedule.

Want to fine-tune it even more? Run a catch cup test. The B-hyve app walks you through an irrigation audit using catch cups to measure your actual sprinkler precipitation rate. The app automatically adds those results to the calculations—no manual math required.

Bluetooth and Wi-Fi: Why Choose?

All B-hyve controllers can work over Bluetooth when you're within range—about 50-100 feet depending on the device. That means you can operate the timer, run zones manually, and adjust settings from your phone even if you don't have Wi-Fi at that location.

But here's the catch: without Wi-Fi, you lose the smart programming features. WeatherSense needs an internet connection to pull weather data and automatically adjust schedules. So Bluetooth gives you manual control, but Wi-Fi gives you true set-it-and-forget-it automation.
