Description
Quick coupler valves and keys are a time-tested way of making it easy to access a pressurized line anywhere in a landscape, while keeping it safe and secure. For that reason, it is very common to see them at golf courses and commercial properties, although you will see them in residential application, too. The valve is made of durable brass, including the lid which prevents debris from entering the valve. The durable O-rings are serviceable and replaceable. The inlet threads are 3/4-in. female pipe thread (FPT). Typical installation is on a 3/4-in. riser from a 3/4-in. mainline (continuously pressurized) tee or elbow fitting. It is common to place a 7- or 10-in. round valve box, with lid at grade level, over the valve. The double lug valve key has a durable brass body and a steel handle. Insert it into the valve and turn clockwise to turn the water on, and counterclockwise to turn it off. The outlet threads of the key are 3/4-in. male pipe thread (MPT). You can adapt it to hose thread with a 3/4-in. FPT x 3/4-in. MHT brass hose-to-thread fitting, making sure to apply pipe tape to the MPT threads on the quick coupler. For outdoor irrigation use with cold water only.
