Description

The automatic anti-siphon valve features a combination of an inline forward flow valve and an atmospheric vacuum breaker which prevents water flowing from the irrigation system back into the culinary system. This type of valve is most common in California. In other states it is common for a single backflow prevention device to protect the entire system at the mainline point of connection. To function properly, an anti-siphon valve should be installed at least 6 in. above the highest head in the zone which it controls. This typically requires the anti-siphon valve to be installed above-ground on risers. The atmospheric vacuum breaker features a reliable poppet design which closes when the valve shuts off. The automatic valve features a 24 VAC solenoid, manual actuation lever, and flow control. An internal scrubber filter helps keep the valve clog-free. The solenoid features nickel-plated copper wire and is compatible with all major brands of 24 VAC irrigation controllers. We recommend B-hyve controllers for optimum water conservation and PVC-Lock fittings for fast, glue-free installation. For outdoor irrigation use with cold water only.

📏 Critical Sizing Information - Read Before Ordering

Port spacing and threading differ between models. Measure your existing system carefully to ensure compatibility:

Brass Anti-Siphon (57065)
✦ Port Spacing: 2.6" on center
✦ Threading: 3/4"-14 NPT
✦ Includes: 1.25"-16 UN converter
100-Series (57623, 57624, 57604)
✦ Port Spacing: 3.18" on center
✦ 57623: 3/4" inlet
✦ 57624: 1" inlet
✦ 57604: 1" inlet with 3/4" bushings
Jar-Top (57626)
✦ Port Spacing: 3.95" on center
✦ Threading: 3/4" inlet

Installation Guide for DIY Success

About the 57604 Bushings
The 57604 includes adapter bushings that allow you to connect 3/4" pipes to the 1" valve inlet. This gives you flexibility to use the higher flow capacity of a 1" valve with your existing 3/4" piping. Simply thread the bushing into the valve inlet before connecting your pipe.
1

Measure & Verify

Measure existing port spacing (2.6", 3.18", or 3.95" on center) and verify threading size. Double-check your system's pressure rating.
2

Position Correctly

Install valve at least 6 inches above the highest sprinkler head in the zone for proper anti-siphon function.

3

Secure Connections

Apply pipe sealant to threaded connections. For 57604, install bushings first if using 3/4" pipes. Hand-tighten, then wrench-tighten carefully.

4

Wire & Test

Connect 24V AC control wires to solenoid. Test manual operation first, then automatic function. Adjust flow control as needed.

Pressure Guidelines
Brass (57065): Can handle up to 125 PSI, recommended 80 PSI
100-Series (57623, 57624, 57604): Max 100 PSI continuous, recommended 80 PSI. Can handle brief surges to 125 PSI.
Jar-Top (57626): Max 80 PSI continuous, recommended 65 PSI. The twist-top design requires lower pressure than screw-secured models.

the on off valve breaks

I replaced 9 anti siphon valves about 4 years ago and this year I had to replace 4 of them because the on off valve keeps breaking and then the valve leaks.

Thank you for letting us know about your experience with our Anti-Siphon Valves leaking and the on/off lever breaking. We're glad to know how our Customer Care team was able to help with your product replacements, and ask that you reach back out to us with any other concerns you may have or if further assistance may be needed in the future. Have a great rest of your day.

Replaced one after 1

Replaced one after 1.5 years that leaked from one side. New seems fine.

Part needed....

Needed a small replacement part for a 3/4" anti-siphon valve that was under warranty. Orbit did not have the part ( I'm assuming) so they shipped me an entire valve
