Description

The sprinkler donut sod cutter is engineered to remove sod in a precise 7 in. circle around spray head sprinklers. The reduces the likelihood of grass growing into sprinkler heads or over them in a way that may block the spray pattern and reduce uniformity. The cutter is constructed from steel and has a sturdy tee-shape 26-in. handle and a 2-3/8-in. deep serrated blade which creates a clean cut in the sod. A typical companion part for the sod cutter is a sprinkler donut (sold separately) which fills in the circle made by the cutter ring around sprinkler heads. Compatible with spray head sprinklers from Orbit, Hydro-Rain and other major brands. For outdoor irrigation use with cold water only.

Tool defines area but takes pressure +/or strength to cut thru

This tool fits nicely around the sprinkler but it takes a lot more strength than I expected to cut thru the grass/sod…So I have to go over the area multiple times….if it were sharper or had saw type teeth perhaps it would be easier. We have St Augustine grass which is probably much thicker than other types…all in all it helps define the area…Maybe a younger person would find it easier to use .

It's not 7-inch diameter, more like 12-diameter. It won't do the job, I need to return it for credit or replacement for an actual 7-inch diameter.

Works great. I am able to get to my buried sprinkler heads with having to dig up such a large hole.
