My antisyphon valve was not working. Customer representative offer to replace unit but too much work was into construction of setup. Offer made to send out new solenoid to see if would remedy. Received solenoid. It was wrong size. Ended up cutting off antisyphon valve to stop water leak. Capped off. Returned antisyphon valve to Home Depot.

My second Orbit valve on the same system in 2 or 3 years. They sent me a solenoid for free but it didn’t fix the problem. I replaced the valve with a Rain Bird valve and the system now performs better than ever.

They buzz. None of my other solenoids buzz The others have about half the coil resistance so maybe these save a little energy? The buzz suggest to me that they have a small operation margine versus others tha just click.
Thanks for taking the time to share your review about our Solenoids buzzing. The buzzing sound is normal and caused by the magnets inside the solenoid being activated and vibrating. Some solenoids can be louder than others, though there shouldn't be any issues as long as the valve is functioning correctly. Our Customer Care team is happy to further discuss any of your product questions or concerns, and we can be reached by phone at (800)488-6156 or online at support.orbitonline.com. I ordered this because I had bought one from Amazon and the ohms were too high.
Readings of 65 to 68.
I called orbit and told them this and told them this valve was made in South Korea.
He said that is too high and if you purchase from the Orbit site they are made in the U.S.
I checked the ohms on the both solenoids and the were both 61 ohms.
It should be between 20 and 60.
These solenoids are no better than whatI received from Amazon.
Thank you for sharing your experience with the readings for our Solenoids. It fixed the issue and is now working like before.
B
Sileniods didn't function properly. Wrong replacements were sent. Not impressed at all
M
The solenoid doesn't fit my Orbit valve and (according to the website) I can't return it for a refund. I'd have preferred to return it and exchanged it for a complete valve.
T
just what I hoped to receive, did the trick on the repair. Just wish it hadn't taken 10 days for shipping.
F
Perfect replacement
G
Installed replacement solenoid at it seems to be working as expected and so far has fixed the issue with the sprinkler valve no firing automarically
T
Does this solenoid have 1/2-inch MPT?
This solenoid has a 3/4-inch Unified National Extra Fine thread which is a standard thread size for most solenoids.
