Product Description:

The 24V 750mA transformer for indoor sprinkler controllers is a direct replacement for Orbit 24 VAC indoor controllers. The input is 110 VAC and the output is 24 VAC which is standard for pump relays and solenoids in North America. The 750mA capacity makes it capable of simultaneously powering two valve solenoids or one pump relay and one valve solenoid. If you need to install an indoor controller and transformer in an outdoor location, then we recommend installing it in the outdoor sprinkler controller cabinet. This transformer is compatible with 750mA max indoor controllers from Orbit, Hydro-Rain, and other major brands.

Is this compatible with my Orbit controller?

Yes. The product description confirms compatibility with Orbit indoor controllers and other major brands like Hydro-Rain. Most reviewers report it works as a direct replacement for their units. One reviewer noted they needed an older wired-in model instead, so confirm your controller type accepts a plug-and-play transformer before ordering.

Does it stay cool during operation?

Yes. One reviewer who experienced their original transformer melting around the prongs and scorching the outlet reported that this replacement "doesn't even get warm." This suggests improved thermal performance compared to some older units.

Is installation straightforward?

Will this work if I need to hardwire it?

This transformer is designed with a pre-installed plug for plug-and-play installation. One reviewer found it was the wrong type for an older Orbit model that required wiring into the unit, so confirm your controller's connection type before purchasing.

Orbit Transformer

The product arrived with the plastic packaging completely destroyed. The product was exposed and there were shards of plastic everywhere. The product looks undamaged and seems to be working well so far. I don’t know if this was on FedEx or Orbit.

The transformer is fine

The transformer is fine. However the controller that I bought in February 2023 has died. I thought it might have been the transformer even though the old one read 24 volts on my multimeter. This is the device info: MAC Address: 44:67:55:B1:16:9E

Not sure if it was me - but it’s the wrong transformer

Not sure if it was me - but it’s the wrong transformer. I have an older style of orbit and I needed the one that I wire into the unit. Since then - I ordered a whole new unit.
