HOW TO MOVE A SPRINKLER HEAD USING ORBIT'S PUSH-FIT RISER SOLUTION



Moving an existing sprinkler head is simple with Orbit's push fittings and pipe.  Following these simple steps, you'll have sprinklers in the correct location in no time and with little frustration or waiting.

Step 1


Remove grass and dirt from around the head

Begin by removing all dirt and grass from around the existing sprinkler head.  Make sure not to damage the pipe in the process.

Step 2


Dig a trench between the current head and the new location
Dig a trench between the current head and the new location
Dig a trench for the old location to the new location.

Step 3


Remove old head and fitting
Remove old head and fitting
Remove the old head and fitting, making sure no dirt or debris enters the pipe.

Step 4


Insert one end of the swing joint into the pipe
Insert one end of the swing joint into the pipe
Insert swing joint push fitting into the old pipe.  

Step 5


Measure a length of pipe and cut to the correct size and insert into swing joints

Measure a length of pipe from the old location to the new location.  Again, ensure no dirt or debris enters the pipe.  

Step 6


Insert other end into the sprinkler head

Insert swing joint into the sprinkler head and attach to the end of the new length of pipe.  Then, position the head to the correct location and height.

Step 7


Fill in dirt, compact and replace grass
Fill in dirt, compact and replace grass
Fill in the dirt and compact so as to ensure sprinkler head will not sink in the future.
