Orbit Irrigation Product, Inc. and the Utah Rivers Council (URC) have partnered to present Smart Sprinkling. Smart Sprinkling educates residents on the correct use of their automatic irrigation systems. Smart Sprinkling targets residents who have or plan to install automatic sprinkler systems or anyone interested in water conservation.

The URC organized the production of a Smart Sprinkling DVD to inform Utah residents about conserving water. The Smart Sprinkling DVD and additional resources provide important irrigation information and offer helpful conservation tips. Orbit and the URC believe that an automatic sprinkler systems is an effective and efficient tool for irrigating, but is often misused. Understanding you sprinkler system is the key to using it wisely.

The DVD covers three primary areas: (1) sprinkler system design; (2) implementation; and (3) maintenance. Examples of better water management techniques include cycling, adjusting sprinklers so they don't run too often or too long, and modifying watering schedules to reflect the changing water needs of the seasons.
