Orbit Irrigation Products Upgrades Commercial Controller Series

 North Salt Lake, UT. September 27, 2004.  Orbit® Irrigation Products, Inc., one of the world's leading manufacturers of landscape water management products, announced today the release of its upgraded Control Star™ residential/light commercial sprinkler controller.

Orbit has offered the Control Star™ Series of controllers to the professional market for over 10 years, providing dependable, easy to install, easy to program options for professional irrigation contractors.  The 2004 Series" most notable change is the addition of multi-lingual options, allowing the operator to program text readouts in English, Spanish or French.  A replaceable faceplate with Spanish titles and instructions is included with each controller; French faceplates are also available directly from Orbit.

Other updated features include an LCD display that is 80% larger than previous models; text message programming prompts; three independent programming cycles including odd, even and interval cycle settings; and watering by one minute increment options. "With the variety of water-conserving restrictions in many communities around the country, we felt it important to include programming options that would be adaptable to any situation,” notes Orbit Irrigation President K.C. Ericksen. “The 'Water Budget’ and ‘Day Off’ features are also designed with water conservation in mind.”

The sprinkler system controllers will be available from wholesale distributors in the U.S. and Canada.
